Awards Programs

At Tulare Union High School, we love when our students receive recognition for their accomplishments. We provide many opportunities for our students to excel and rise above the rest. Check out our list of awards and scholarships below to see if you might be interested in applying.

Academic Letter Awards

Academic letter awards are sponsored by the ASB and awarded for a combination of a student’s GPA of 3.16 or higher and participation in scholastic activities (recipients receive a letter for their letterman’s jacket).

Eligibility: Academic T criteria = 3.6 GPA for 3 semesters (do not need to be consecutive).

Academic Pins

Sponsored by the ASB, academic pins are awarded to seniors who have maintained a high grade point average in specific areas such as science, English, social studies, drama, math, music, world languages, home economics, art, industry and technology, agriculture, business, and journalism.

Eligibility: Seniors must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.6 in the subject area and have completed a minimum of 5 semesters in that subject

Block "T" Service Award

A top service award sponsored by the ASB, block “T” service awards are annually presented to one male and one female graduating senior.

Eligibility: Students involved in class, club or ASB government; who have taken unselfish interest in promoting school spirit and become involved in student activities; who have been responsible members and leaders of clubs and other organizations; and have epitomized the ideal of the student who serves his/her school and fellow students.

California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Lifetime Membership

CSF fosters and recognizes high scholastic achievement and sponsors the Lifetime Membership for active senior CSF student members with a medallion and certificate of honor that is highly regarded.

HEART Award

Students who demonstrate hard work, excellence, a positive attitude, respect and teamwork are recognized throughout the year by all staff.

Lions Club Boy of the Month

The local Lions Club association recognizes senior boy students each month.

Perfect Attendance Award

Tulare Union students who maintain perfect attendance throughout the school year are recognized every six weeks, semester and annually.

Redskin of the Year

The TUHS Athletics Department honors a male and female athlete who has excelled in TUHS athletics and who meets the following criteria, with strong consideration of multi-sport student athletes; they must stand for all that is good in athletics: pride, dedication, good sportsmanship, good role model and a good team concept.

Scholar Athlete of the Year

The TUHS Coaches Association honors a male and female senior scholar athlete with a high GPA who has participated in athletics throughout their senior year.

Scholarships

The counseling department works with all Tulare Union students and numerous scholarship donors to assist senior graduating students to earn thousands of dollars toward continuing education.

Senior Athlete of the Year

The TUHS Coaches Association honors a male and female senior athlete who has greatly excelled in athletics throughout their senior year.

Soroptomist Girl of the Month

The Soroptomist Club recognizes senior girl students monthly throughout the school year based upon their service to the school and community, and academic performance.

Tom Yost Award

The TUHS Coaches Association awards a lifetime pass to all home athletic events to all graduating senior students who participated in and completed 12 seasons of high school athletics (a sport every season – fall, winter and spring – for their entire high school career).

Valedictorian/Salutatorian

Valedictorian awards honor those graduating seniors who maintained a 4.0 GPA and above throughout high school, and the Salutatorian award honors the next highest academic ranking.
