Romeo and Juliet

Bus Stop Procedures

It is becoming increasingly apparent that our students are placing themselves at great risk while walking en-route to enter and exit their bus at the stops. The students must be aware of their surroundings and of oncoming vehicular traffic around the school bus stop locations. We will consider an injury to a student exiting or entering the bus as a school bus accident, and CHP may investigate.

It is a common issue as well for other motorists in the area of the school buses to be distracted drivers by use of their cell phones. Bus drivers are going to communicate to all students to put their cell phones away prior to entering and exiting the buses.

Modified Closed Campus

In the interest of student and staff safety, we have a modified closed campus policy. Students are not allowed to leave campus at any time during the school day, except during the lunch period, unless they have an off-campus pass. Maintaining a safe campus for all students and staff is a top priority. We follow a zero tolerance policy toward students who harass or threaten the safety of others. If your student has a safety concern, contact a member of the campus supervision team, a teacher, administrator, or counselor immediately.
